KENYA

9-Day Wildlife and Beach Safari, Kenya

This 9-day safari offers the ultimate insight into a privileged aspect of Kenya that is never experienced by the typical safari packages. Starting from Nairobi, it offers three days in the heart of a private conservancy on the borders of the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Thereafter, there are four days in a Robinson Crusoe-styled camp located amongst the sand dunes of the Tana River Delta, overlooking the Indian Ocean south of Lamu.

Major Destinations:

Masai Mara National Reserve, Tana River Delta

Game Drives, Beach Safari

DAY 1: NAIROBI

Upon arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and driven to your hotel.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After breakfast, you will be driven the short journey to Wilson Airport to connect to your flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Arriving 45 minutes later, you will be met by your guide and driven to your camp in time to relax before lunch. After lunch enjoy your first game drive in this world-renowned reserve before returning to camp for dinner.

DAY 3 & 4: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

With three days on safari in the Masai Mara, the opportunities for game viewing are unprecedented. The Mara is a pristine wilderness of haunting beauty which promises its visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific bird life, and the unprecedented opportunity of viewing with all the members of the "Big Five" (lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros).

DAY 5: TANA RIVER DELTA

Enjoy the morning in the Mara, leaving after lunch to connect to your flight to Malindi where you will be met by our representative and driven two hours to the departure point of the boat, which will take you on a stunning 20-minute boat trip to the lodge. Arrive at the "wild place by the sea" in time for dinner.

DAY 6, 7 AND 8: TANA RIVER DELTA

Three days of idyllic Robinson Crusoe living in one of just seven luxurious cottages amongst the rolling sand dunes of the Tana River Delta. The 440-mile Tana River flows through Garissa and Garsen before branching into a huge delta as it enters the Indian Ocean, south of Lamu. Along the last 40 miles of its course it flows across a broad floodplain, which is now the Lower Delta Conservation Trust and lies under the stewardship of the Orma and Pokomo tribes. The Orma are of Ethiopian descent and are herdsmen, while the Pokomo are farmers and fishermen and the ancestral guardians of the Ozi Forest, a sanctuary for elephants, buffalos, and many other rare species.

DAY 9: NAIROBI

Enjoy a leisurely morning and, after lunch, retrace your boat and road journey to Malindi to connect to your flight to Nairobi and your onward connection.
