DAY 1: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

Arrive Mt. Kilimanjaro International Airport this evening. Meet and greet and transfer to your lodge for overnight.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

Depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a picnic lunch. The drive is approximately two hours from town through lovely countryside. The Park is located up against the Rift Valley Escarpment Wall just beyond the village of Mto wa Mbu. The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lion and five different eco-systems. Baboon, monkey, elephant, gazelle, antelope, giraffe, lion, and buffalo are just some of the animal species you might observe. Your afternoon game drive will be followed by check-in at your lodge in time to freshen up before dinner.

DAY 3, 4 & 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Depart for Serengeti National Park for a picnic lunch. Along the way you have the option to stop at Ol'duvai Gorge for a visit to the Leakey museum and archeological site. For this and the next two days, you'll have morning and afternoon game drives in the world famous Serengeti National Park with its spectacular concentration of animals found nowhere else in the world. The most famous feature of the Serengeti is the annual wildebeest migration. This spectacle sees more than 1 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles trek to new grazing grounds. Also, here is a chance to see all of the "Big Five" game (lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros).

DAY 6: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA AND CRATER

Today you depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater. Besides a game drive on the Crater floor, you may also enjoy a guided hike along the crater rim. The Crater contains the largest concentration of wildlife to be found on the African Continent – over 20,000 at all times. It is a virtual Noah's Ark (without giraffes). It is also home to the endangered black rhino and is one of the few locations left where you might witness these great creatures in their natural habitat.

DAY 7: ARUSHA, RETURN TO U.S.

Dependent on flight departure time, you may have the opportunity for a short game drive on your return to Arusha - at Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Parks. Or you may elect to return earlier for a stop at the Cultural Heritage Center in Arusha before your transfer to the airport and your departing flight.
