Who We Are

I founded Ujuzi African Travel in 2008 after a life-changing trip to East Africa. My mother-in-law, who had lived in Uganda, introduced me to places few tourists tread. We visited breathtaking national parks, of course, but also shared meals with her Ugandan friends and helped students practice English at a local school. It was wonderful learning about their lives.

I created Ujuzi African Travel to give others the same personalized access to African culture and wildlife. I’ll design your safari around your interests—whether you’re traveling alone, with friends or family, or with a group from your local zoo or another organization you support.

What We Do

Ujuzi African Travel offers custom private and group safaris throughout eastern and southern Africa, as well as nearby islands. Our clients include solo travelers, family and friend groups, and cultural institutions such as zoos and aquariums.

We work with you to create your perfect safari. Choose your travel dates, destinations, and the types of accommodations you want—from rustic camps to 5-star resorts—and we’ll do the rest. In addition to coordinating your time in Africa, we can book your international flights, help you insure your trip, and offer tips on what to pack!
