Tanzania’s less-traveled southern safari circuit offers a truly wild experience to the discerning safari goer. Start in Nyerere National Park, which offers unparalleled and intimate views of wildlife via thrilling game drives, relaxing boating safaris on the Rufigi River, and tranquil nature walks that open your eyes to the fine details of your surroundings.
Then fly to Ruaha National Park, a rugged, semi-arid landscape dotted with majestic baobabs and herds of giraffes browsing the tops of acacia trees. The park is a haven for elephants and a profusion of colorful birds. In the dry season, you have the option of a hot air balloon safari!

15-Day Northern Highlights: Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro & Serengeti
A Tanzania odyssey like no other! This adventure offers the best of Northern Tanzania: the challenge of climbing Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro; viewing the abundant and diverse wildlife of Serengeti National Park; looking for tree-climbing lions in Lake Manyara National Park; and exploring beautiful Ngorongoro Crater!

10-Day Best of Tanzania—Serengeti & Zanzibar
On this safari, you’ll experience Tanzania’s most famous national park and its renowned spice islands. In the Serengeti, you’ll follow the world’s largest overland migration. This will give you an excellent chance to see some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife: wildebeest, zebras, lions, leopards, giraffes, and a variety of antelope. Then it’s off to Zanzibar! How you spend your time here is up to you: relax on the beaches, snorkel among the coral reefs, visit historical Stone Town or the fragrant space farms—these are just a few of the many to do in this island paradise.
Mafia Island features stunning beaches and coral reefs.
4-Day Mafia Island Extension
Mafia Island is a hidden gem off the coast of Tanzania! This tranquil paradise offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Whether you’re diving with whale sharks, snorkeling in the coral reefs, or simply relaxing on the sandy shores, the Mafia Archipelago promises an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the warm hospitality of the local community and immerse yourself in the serene, unspoiled environment.
Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, is a dormant volcano located about 40 miles west of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the centerpiece of Arusha National Park.
4-Day Mount Meru Trek
Trekking Mt. Meru is usually skipped in favor of its bigger neighbor, Mt. Kilimanjaro to the east, but the sheer beauty of this hike makes it a must-do. The early parts of the trail pass through lush rainforests of fig trees. Colobus monkeys scamper high in the canopy. As you trek higher, the cloud forest clears in the late afternoon to reveal striking vistas of Kilimanjaro and the volcano chain on the edge of the Rift Valley. The last distance before the summit passes over the crater ridge—an exhilarating experience, and not one for the fainthearted.

5-8 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Trek
Kilimanjaro offers the chance to scale to the “roof of Africa.” The highest peak and most famous mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro is a heavy challenge, more from the rigors of altitude than the actual hike itself. The climb takes hikers through thick forests and alpine grasslands, desolate rock faces and brilliant white glaciers. Choose from several routes to the top depending on your skill level and desired number of days. You can combine your trek with a full safari and beachside recuperation in Zanzibar.
Enjoy the gorgeous Indian Ocean beaches of Zanzibar.
4-Day Zanzibar Extension
Zanzibar is possibly the best place in East Africa for a luxurious beach vacation. Enjoy days of lounging next to crystal-clear waters, or explore the coast with scuba diving and dhow cruises. Stimulate your senses with a tour of a local spice farm. And don’t forget the bustling marketplaces of Stone Town, which boasts breathtaking mosques and magnificent old fortresses.
